Purpose: To recognize that Chinese people are no longer weak and to convince their people and other nations that China will come up for power since they have won the war. This victory will improve everything with help from their foreign friends.
Audience: their enemies the Americans, their foreign friends and their people.
Context: At the First Plenary Session of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, after they have decided to come over new control and change things.
Appeals: Pathos; tells how they have been seen as weak and what the Kuomintang have done to them. Ethos; Providing information of what they plan to do and giving his credibility as to why and how.
Logos; The logic of China standing up and the convincing and reasoning for their country to do so.
Techniques: Uses effective words such a ; crushed, great unity, ruthless, oppressed, slaughtered, humiliation, victorious and heroic. Repeats their need of their "foreign friends". Antithesis. Parallel Structure. Rhetorical questions.
Effectiveness: The speech flows better and you are more convinced and conveyed by his actions, what he wants to do and why Mao is thinking this way and moving toward these ideas.
Claim: since they have won the war= they are in need of their foreign friends= China is no longer weak= time for China to STAND UP!
Warrants: Since China is now changing their ways and looking to become stronger and out of their weak shadow, it is time for China to stand up.
General Evaluation: China wants to have and hold power. Mao is a person of power and wants his country to believe that they have power and now it is time to STAND UP and realize that now it is time to put their power to action. Now that their foreign friends, Russia being its biggest and strongest one, is here and their is a great unity between their allies, China now has the strength it needs to get their power up.

Churchill and Hirohito being honest,credibility
In all speeches credibility and honesty should be key so that it builds your ethos and its gives you more authority to speak on a topic.
In Churchill's speech he starts if by building his credibility by starting off saying that he knows that he a new Prime Minister but he had plans to be put in action, "Mister Speaker, on Friday evening last I received His Majesty's commission to form a new Administration. It was the evident wish and will of Parliament and the nation that this should be conceived on the broadest possible basis and that it should include all parties, both those who supported the late Government and also the parties of the Opposition." He goes on in his opening by being honest and appealing with ethos. Emperor Hirohito is being honest towards the end of his speech after he gives notice that Japan had lost the war against America and now its time to make amends, "The welfare of the wounded and the war sufferers and of those who lost their homes and livelihood is the object of our profound solicitude. The hardships and suffering to which our nation is to be subjected hereafter will be certainly great." He makes his point that Japan has lost but now that America is threatening them, he is honest to what might happen if the nuclear bomb is dropped.
Even though Hirohito has credibility and is honest, in other parts of their speeches it lacks or there is a bit more exaggeration. "Moreover, the enemy has begun to employ a new and most cruel bomb, the power of which to do damage is, indeed, incalculable, taking the toll of many innocent lives. Should we continue to fight, it would not only result in an ultimate collapse and obliteration of the Japanese nation, but also it would lead to the total extinction of human civilization." You can see how the credibility is lost because of the overstatement that is said. In Churchill's speech it differs because he doesn't sugar coat anything, "We have before us and ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, bye sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime."

Proposing with Pom Poms
- Making Cheerleading a definite sport is my topic
- My audience is NCAA, ESPN and local Newspapers or Media
- My purpose is to give Cheerleeaders a voice and to make it known that what we do isnt a hobby, it is a sport. We need to be recognized and appreciated.
- I have authority for this topic because I have been Cheerleading since I was 7, so that makes 9 years. We do so much and its about time we get some recognition!
- I want to write a letter but I also think that making a bumper sticker would also be effective because everyone is going to see it.
- My claims are the how everything we do is just like every other sport; we have competitions, we compete with other teams, we have ranks and divisions and to top it off, some competitions are showed on ESPN. Cheerleading is more than just cheering on other sports, its about what happens on the mat and what we bring there.
- I want my end result to be that Cheerleading does get taken seriously and it becomes a sport. I'm not saying that it will happen but it will be worth a try.
- I think if I appeal to pathos, ethos and logos it will be more effective. I can use emotion to sympathize with my audience, logic to point out all the difficulty things that Cheerleaders do and ethos by using my long term experiences with Cheerleading to hook the audience
- I dont know about my rhetorical devices but I will use a lot of parallel structure and diction and tons of other things
- I think the NCAA and ESPN will be interested but it depends on how strong my argument is and as for local newspaper and media, they might take my story but I must give it my all.

Toulmin Argument on Cheerleading; hopefully i do this right
Cheerleading should be considered as a nationwide sport. I's not fair that things like, bowling and paddle ball are considered "sports". I can bowl very well and maybe I could be good at paddle ball, but its actually really hard work being a good cheerleader... harder than you think. The difficulty level of things that cheerleaders do and amount of time that we put in to compete and also support our school teams makes Cheerleading more than just a hobby, or a group and it should no way be compared to dancing; it is a sport.
"The NCAA's Amateur laws operates along a series of bylaws that govern the areas of ethical conduct, amateur eligibility, financial aid, recruiting, gender equity, championship events and academic standards." Cheerleading is backed by the NCAA, having financial aid to help pay for uniforms, camp, tumbling and other things. There is a grand tryout where everyone is welcome, boys and girls; its actually more preferable to have more boys on the team than girls. There are Cheerleading Competitions, Regionals, States and Championships all around the world and if you don't have the qualified GPA of a 1.7, you can not cheer, just like for any other sport.
ESPN is considered a "sports" channel right? On some Sundays this year of 2013, there have been Cheerleading Championships broadcasted on ESPN for everyone to view. The series is in fact is called, "ESPN World Wide of Sports." If Cheerleading is broadcasted on a "sports channel" and is mentioned in the "world wide of sports", why is it not considered a sport?
Some may say, "so what?!" "what's the big deal of Cheerleading being a sport or not, who gives a hoot?" I DO! Every cheerleader I know does. It actually hurts that we go on and cheer other sports on, we're there for them and they treat us like dirt on the ground. Football players, for example, are tough and rough but do they have the flexibility and qualification to be a Cheerleader? Are they able to actually lift someone at the complex levels as Cheerleaders do? Are the able to understand and abide by all the rules and regulations that Cheerleaders have to go through and participate in something that is considered top dangerous? Let's think on that. Everyone has rights and opinions, so what is so wrong with a Cheerleader having one?

Who's going to listen to a Cheerleader?
So I've decided to take a stand and I think that Cheerleading would be my strongest point to focus on and pursue cause I have tons of thoughts and ideas and of course a whole lot to say with my big mouth, so this is what I'm sticking with!
Who's going to listen to a Cheerleader?...In Brien McMahon
Madaferri
Koroshetz
-Maderferri has say so in all athletic departments, so he would be my the audience that I would want or my intended audience. Koroshetz is our principal so for anything to be passed it has to be to her so if she's reading this and understand where I'm coming from then maybe I can make a change in our school.
Global;
FCIAC
National Collegiate Athletic Association
MSG Varsity
Colleges, High Schools and Middle School
Youth Sport Programs
- The FCIAC, NCAA and MSG Varsity are the biggest global audiences because we strive to win FCIAC, and as Cheerleaders that's so huge, so they should acknowledge this and take a stand, the NCAA actually had the exact power to enforce Cheerleading as a sport, and MSG Varsity includes Cheerleading on their channel but not as a sport; those would be our biggest supporters. Colleges, High Schools, Middle Schools and Youth Sport Programs would surely help out with our goal because this is the beginning for Cheerleading or the peak of it. So starting from the bottom with Youth Sport Program like ANA and Norwalk Youth and building up to colleges, having them as an audience can surely get the word around and make a change.
Who am I speaking for;
CHEERLEADERS.
-Cheerleaders are who I want to read this because why wouldn't they want to read about Cheerleading and how it can actually be recognized for more things than just cartwheels and splits. I am speaking from a Cheerleaders point of view, I am speaking for all the Cheerleaders out there and I am speaking to all of the Cheerleaders out there. Everything I do, is for all of you!

Not really sure but Train Prices
I'm going to be honest with you and tell you I'm not really sure how to come about this blog with either ethos or logos or analogies so you get what you get and you don't get upset.
If you Google Metro-North Fares and Tolls, you will come up with a page of all the different fare to go to the place you want to go, whether it's somewhere in Connecticut or in New York. Personally I have only taken the train to Stamford and once to Noroton Heights. To Stamford from South Norwalk I paid $3.25; which is ironic because on the website it says $2.50 but we'll just ignore that. Stamford is 4 exits away on the highway and I would think about 3 or 4 stops on the train. Going to Noroton Heights is 2 exits and maybe 2 or 3 train stops. So what's with $3.25/2.50? My brother who takes the train very often (since he's 22 and still doesn't have car) he thinks it rather outrageous for him to pay $2.50 everyday. So I ask him, what would you prefer? $2.50 everyday or paying for gas? He wasn't sure what to answer. If you take the train for a week, round trip, it's $17.25 as said on the website. About $20 dollars which would be the same as putting gas in your car. With the train you have delays and with a car you have traffic. Sometimes the train is on time and sometimes the traffic is moving, sometimes the trains need to be fix so they can be out for a few days and sometimes you car may stop working so too the shop it goes. So if you truly think about, taking the train every week and putting gas in your car every week is somewhat the same.
Taking the bus from Stamford to Norwalk is $1.25. Maybe it takes a little while longer and it does go along a more local route but more or less the train station in Stamford and where the bus drops you off in front of the mall is 2 block away. The bus also stops at other stops in Stamford along its route while the train does not. Maybe you have to add in that the train is larger than the bus, but in sense of seats they're about the same. The bus is more local than the train and stops more so why wouldn't it cost more if it gets you closer to many more things? To pay $1.25 for the bus which can honestly take you to more places in Darien, get you closer to shops and your house or places you want to go is more cost effective and more helpful, so should the prices of the train and buses be switched?
From a person who would refuse to take the bus, unlike my brother he know the ins and out of the buses and the trains since these are sometimes his commutes. Wouldn't it be best if he was to just save up for a car which would be easier in the long run. But from someone who might not know anything about it, like maybe you.. what would you choose?

Crowded Train Prices
The other day I went to Stamford Mall to do my annual shopping at Abercrombie, Forever 21 and H&M, however this time I had no choice other than to take the train. I've probably only taken the train like 6 or 7 times in my life and never once have I paid. This day (the other day) I payed $3.25 for a train ticket. $3.25!!!! Seriously, from South Norwalk to Stamford?! Maybe I could understand $3.25 from South Norwalk to Bridgeport or maybe somewhere that takes longer but definitely not to Stamford. I'm on a crowded train, not even sitting for about 7 minutes and I'm paying $3.25??! There is so many things I can buy for $3.25; like a tank top from Forever 21 or maybe 2 if I add on my Forever 21 discount card, if you add $4.00 to that I could get a burrito from Chipotle, I could get an Iced Tea and small fries from Mcdonalds, I could buy 2 bags of Sour Patch and if you aad $1.75 I could afford a Drake poster at FYE! So why in the world am I paying $.325 for a train ticket?
Do you wanna know how much the bus cost to get to Stamford? $1.50! And it actually drops me off IN FRONT of the mall (but I'm not a bus person, this is only what I've been told) When I take the train, I still have to walk down about 5 minutes to the mall. (Not to mention I just stood up for 7 minutes on a crowded train with old guys with business suits and then I have to walk 5 more minutes to a mall that I'm going to have to walk around some more) After being so outraged, I called my mom to complain to her, as if she could actually do anything. "What do you want me to do, I worked today Ms.Princess." I knew she was going to reply with something smart like that. "You owe me $3.25 mom!" I said back. "Why don't I just buy you some Chipotle and we'll call it even?!" And when she said that, I had a deja vu moment.
I know a train is transportation and all but please, it makes me sad how much I have to pay for a train. Imagine me doing this everyday, it just couldn't happen! Thinking about it, I could get a medium Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee with cream and sugar and a caramel swirl for $2.67 everyday of the rest my life and still that would be less than what I pay to take a train. But then again, Iced Coffee's can't transport me anywhere, neither can Chipotle burritos or food from Mcdonalds, a tank top from Forever 21, my lovely Drake poster or Sour Patch. Therefore I'm stuck with $3.25 wasted on a piece of paper that isn't even appealing to the eye.
Now if pigs could fly, I wonder how much it'd be for them to transport me to South Norwalk to Stamford.

Nickel and Dimed, Page 68, Second Paragraph;
"I can't help letting my mind wander to the implications of Alzheimer's disease for the theory of an immortal soul. Who wants an afterlife if the immediate pre-afterlife is spent clutching the arms of a wheelchair, head bent back at a forty-five-degree angle, eyes and mouth wide open and equally mute, like so many of my charged at the Woodcrest? Is the "soul" that lives forever the one we possess at the moment of the death, in which case heaven must look something like the Woodcrest with plenty of CNAs and dietary aides to take care of this who died in a state of mental decomposition? Or is it our personally best soul-say, the one that indwells in us at the height of our cognitive powers and moral aspirations? In which case, it can't possibly matter whether demented diabetics eat cupcakes or not, because from a purely soteriological standpoint, they're already dead"
It really isn't fair that the Cheerleaders who have a longer season than the Volleyball players have to cheer outside. It's either too hot or too cold outside for the Cheerleaders to even get what they want done, or the wholes in the ground distracts us from stunting, or we're put last so we have to relocate, so why can't we just practice in the little gym? Are we really the "outsiders" compared to all the other sports groups in McMahon, in that case why are we the only ones winning trophies or actually doing good enough to bring news home that Madaferri would actually be proud of? I understand that maybe the credibility of our team isn't that good, but things have changed and we would now like some respect and to feel wanted. So I suggest, the Volleyball players should practice in one gym like every other team, some respect should be showed and let's put us at the ranking we deserve.

Things That Bug Me
Cheerleading Stuff:
- Cheerleading should be considered as a national sport because it does everything else every other sport does!
- Cheerleaders have to pick up people which I'm sure a football player or wrestler couldn't manage to do.
- Why doesn't anyone else try to tumble and do half of the things we do and still look good instead of just thinking everything is "easy"?
- We compete and get scores and trophies just like everyone else and there's more diversity to our trophies so... WHATS THE PROBLEM?
- Why does the Volleyball team have two gyms to practice when all of the other varsity teams practice all together and share one space, why can't Cheerleaders have the little gym?
- Why can't the lessons and teaching go digital so that students that are terribly sick won't get left behind?
- What's with the 10/10 rule, my bladder has no time for when it wants to be emptied so why does someone else tell me when to use the bathroom?
- Why aren't you aloud to leave the cafeteria without a pass? What if you want to eat lunch but have plans to eat upstairs or don't want to be in the cafeteria because you're being bullied? I mean there are cameras for a reason.
- Just because you built an Ice Rink doesn't mean you've made a better place for teens to hangout at.
- Where is the mall that was supposed to be built like 4 years ago?
- Why is it so hard to actually obtain a library card and then you still have to pay to get your homework printed?
- Why close the YMCA when that was the only place that kept half of the kids in Norwalk out of trouble? Are we expected just to learn how to swim on our own?
- Why is their so much violence and hate in Norwalk when its claimed to be a "loved and community based town"?
- I get it we're in two different parts of the school but can we at least try to act like we're one school put together, lovingly?
- Can we have more security in the Mac Labs because I don't appreciate outsiders using OUR computers and breaking them?
- Can we be able to have access to a microwave because school lunch is hideous?!!!
- Why can't we eat in the community anymore? Not everyone has friends in their lunch shift.
- Can the recycled paper in the printer be just a little more decent - not trying to push it?
- Why does the train rides cost$ 3.25 or more when the actual ride is only 5 to 10 minutes from Stamford to Norwalk?
- Can we actually work on ways to prevent pollution than just sticking up signs that no one reads?
- There should be calorie signs on all fast food places. I'd like to know my calorie intake.
- Can we just stop all the fussing and fighting with other countries and bring our soldiers home?!
- Where do all the tax money my mom pays actually go? It doesn't go to the schools because all we do is fund raise and it doesn't go to the roads because I can show you many streets that need a tune up!
- Whats with the rule that if you're under 18 you can only work a minimum of 25 or less hours a week?- Many teens may have families to support at young ages.
- Gay marriage should be legal! Damn right I support it!
- Why does everyone feel the need to throw the 'N' word around on every website?
- Wheres the African American emoji because I'm pretty sure every other race is covered?
- Why is Spongebob seemed to be an idiot when in fact most of the words I have received in my Academically Challenged classes in Middle School were said on Spongebob?
- What's the deal with everyone hating on Drake? He's sexy leave him alone!
- There should be automatic detection on cyber bullying!
- Private chat rooms should officially be blocked or off limits to pedophiles and their should be some software that makes sure of this!
- A 10 year old should not have a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or anything of that sort! You're just allowing old men to prowl on you.

Nakijah King is the name dont wear it out
My name is Nakijah King. Nakijah doesn't really mean anything as so my mom says, "It just came to me, it was different!" ... How does THAT name just like come to you? Most people call me Nikki which ,(I think) sounds nothing like Nakijah but I just go along with it. King comes from a family name of English, Scottish and British people and means tribal leader which is probably why I'm more of a leader than a follower. My middle name is Alontae but lets not even talk about that.
I searched on Google what my name means and everything that was described was exactly me. "You have a vivid imagination who can bring inspired messages to the world. You must remain positive, or instability will result. You like to enjoy the pleasures of life, and when self is overcome, you can rise to the heights. You are restless, sociable people-oriented, a lover of change, and a seeker of adventure and new thrills." If anyone knows me its definitely Google. I'm pretty sure I don't know another Nakijah but they're all over the internet with last names of Jackson and Rivera, who are you people? There can only be 1, and of course that's me!
I love my name, like I actually really love my name no matter how hard it is. It's different, just like me. I never wanted to fit in or be like everyone else and with a name like Nakijah I'm pretty sure I stand out enough. The cool thing is my name can actually fit in any cheer which is probably why I'm mean to be a Cheerleader. 2,4,6,8, Nakijah is who we appreciate! Lets get a little bit rowdy, N,a,k,i,j,a,h! Also I'm like in love with Drake so instead of saying Versace Versace like in his song, you can just easily say Nakijah, Nakijah; thats amazing. Oh and just to clarify its pronounced Na-Kiiiii-Jah! I have no idea why everyone says Na-Key-Jah when there's no "e", an "i" is pronounced like "eye" so goddamn get my name right!
King (my last name) makes me feel glorious. Like my last name is King, bow down to me peasant. But it's not like that sadly. If Ii was a boy like my brother I think I'd feel invincible because my last name is King and I would just walk around with a pride of a King and a leader, but once again its not like that sadly (thank god for that). My brother has a tattoo that says'King' which I feel make him feel more powerful or good-looking than he actually is. King means leader obviously and I must admit I can be a little bossy sometimes and I like to be in control, I'm bold and I like that, people don't walk over me which justifies everything. I've always wondered if I was related to Martin Luther King Jr. because that would be SO cool but I dont think so, or at least that's what my dad said. I've also come to the sad realization that maybe English, Scottish or British people are my ancestor or owned my ancestors because everyone that I know who has the last name is King is white. I wish I had some kind of accent to relate me back but I don't. I've asked my dad tons of things about our family past but I think the old age has impacted him and he barely remembers anything. Honestly if my ancestors were owned or were slaves I really wouldn't want to know because I would feel like sad that they had to go through those things and I would somewhat feel like my whole life is a lie.
There's no place named Nakijah or anyone that is famous that has my name which is actually a good thing because I want to be the only one! Good thing my name isn't like Brittany or Stephanie because I HAVE to be the one and only, that's a must. However, I'm somewhat famous on the internet by being in the newspaper. When do you see someones name being Nakijah King in the newspaper? NEVER, but I'm in there. I guess there's pretty much no real way to explain the origin of my name except for my last name. Therefore I'm just a girl with a tribal leader last name and a first name that no one seems to know how to pronounce even though its probably so easy to say out. I'm different, nicely and happily different. My name is happy and fun to say; Nakijah King, Naaakiiijaaaah Kiiiiing, Nakijah King!
People grow up to change their name and change their whole identity but that's not me, I've grown into this name, its who I am. Nakijah King born in Flushing Hospital in Queens, New York, partially raised in Manhattan and then so far lived in Norwalk, Connecticut for 9 years. That happy, smiley, cheerleader.. yup! That's me. No relations to the outside world and declared as the only Nakijah King in the world, or so I'd like to think.
